Our Vision of Automated Company Research

In a world flooded with data, the challenge isn't merely in capturing information, but making sense of it — quickly, accurately, and efficiently. This is the nerve we struck, and it's where our story begins.

The Founding Team

Arne, Co-Founder and CEO is the former Head of Growth at the AI startup Levity, where he faced various pains in B2B sales firsthand across varied markets.

Hagen, Co-Founder and CTO has a background in big data and machine learning, most recently at the largest European publisher Axel Springer where he built systems processing millions of data points each day.

Around mid-2023, we were joined by a brilliant machine learning engineer David who previously was part of the COVID-19 task force at Robert Koch Institute. As if the passing of the pandemic wasn't gift enough, we are lucky to have him on the team.

Brought together by shared passions around machine learning, relationships, and efficiency, we set out to tackle a major problem we both experienced during our own own entrepreneurial journey — a problem that led to scratching our own itch in the most literal sense.

Vision and Mission: Transforming Data (Re-) Search

Our mission is to drastically reduce the effort spent on mundane data research tasks. Every month, countless hours of human labor are devoted to sifting through company data — hours that could instead fuel decision-making, strategy, and growth.

While initially focusing on specific use cases, making knowledge about companies (and later their decision makers) is a universal capability that helps get a more accurate picture of the world and the pain point goes far beyond just applications in sales.

From academic research to venture capital, banking to private equity, and eventually to individuals looking for a suitable company to work with – the applications of this technolgy extend far beyond sales. We are just scratching the surface.

Birth of the Idea

Long before our startup was a reality, we faced the task of identifying the right companies ourselves. With ever-changing requirements, sourcing the right data and distilling the relevant companies was not just challenging but painfully inefficient. What's more, we knew the shortcuts we were taking compromised our precision—we were reaching out to the wrong companies and the wrong people.

With the advent of Large Language Models (LLMs), the potential to automate nuanced, experienced-based knowledge work became a possibility. That said, we quickly realized that merely applying an LLM wasn't sufficient: To have a substantial impact, we needed to curate and train our models on specific data to ensure performance that we and our customers sought for.
